Union Home Minister Amit Shah greeted journalists on the occasion of the National Press Day. He said the Narendra Modi government is committed to the freedom of press and strongly opposes those who throttle it. "Greetings on #NationalPressDay. Our media fraternity is working tirelessly towards strengthening the foundations of our great nation, "Modi govt is committed towards the freedom of Press and strongly oppose those who throttle it. I applaud media's remarkable role during COVID-19," he tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar also greeted the journalists on the occasion of the National Press Day today. Prakash Javadekar wrote in his message, 'Free Press' is the specialty and foundation of our democracy. #National_press_day draws our attention to the freedom and responsibilities of the press. The biggest crisis today is #FakeNews, journalists should work for it. Best wishes to all journalists.

Every year on November 16, National Press Day is celebrated in the country. On this day, the importance of the press and media is discussed.  Many leaders praised the role of media persons in the difficult times of the Corona epidemic. PM Modi has given the message on National Press Freedom Day in a video released on PIB.
