Jaipur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a visit to Rajasthan on Saturday (September 10) during which he visited the Indo-Pakistan International Border Area of Jaisalmer. He then laid the foundation stone of the Sri Tanot Temple Boundary Development Project. He also paid tributes to the martyred soldiers by offering flowers at the 'Tanot Victory Pillar'. After offering prayers at the Shri Tanot Temple, Amit Shah left for Jodhpur.

Amit Shah will be given a grand welcome by BJP leaders and workers here and more than 1500 party workers in saffron turbans on bikes will take him from the airport to the meeting venue in the form of a rally. Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Rajasthan. The home minister's visit is also being linked to the assembly elections in Rajasthan scheduled next year. He is said to have come to the Congress-ruled state to bring BJP workers into election mode.

Jodhpur falls in the Marwar region of Rajasthan and is the hometown of CM Ashok Gehlot. That is why Amit Shah is starting to challenge Congress from here. Here he will first address the concluding session of the party's OBC Morcha at a hotel today. This will be followed by a rally with BJP booth-level workers at Dussehra Maidan in Jodhpur. Over 25,000 booth workers from across the division will attend the party meeting.
