New Delhi:- As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Culture is all set to launch 'Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar' (My village, My Heritage), a captivating cultural initiative that aims to celebrate and preserve India's rich cultural heritage. The project, initiated under the National Mission on Cultural Mapping, is spearheaded by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah.

'Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar' (MGMD) will be unveiled during a grand projection mapping show at the iconic Qutub Minar. This nationwide initiative, accessible through the virtual platform https://mgmd.gov.in, is designed to connect people with the soul of India - its villages.

With the primary goal of culturally mapping India's 6.5 lakh villages across 29 states and 7 union territories, MGMD provides an immersive experience into the diverse and vibrant cultural tapestry of the nation. The project aims to foster a deeper appreciation for India's age-old customs and traditions while paving the way for economic growth, social harmony, and artistic development in rural communities.

The launch event promises an enchanting experience for visitors, enabling them to virtually traverse through India's heartwarming villages. From 11 AM to 10 PM, the exhibition and stalls will showcase captivating glimpses of the cultural wonders each village holds.

Highlighting the uniqueness of selected Indian villages, a captivating Projection Mapping Show on the Qutub Minar will narrate various themes, further enthralling the audience.

The MGMD launch film will tell an engaging and inspiring narrative, forging a stronger connection with our cultural roots. Additionally, the event includes a "Samvaad," a unique opportunity for people from different villages to interact with the honorable minister, creating a heartwarming exchange that reflects the essence of India's villages.

'Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar' seeks to transcend boundaries and foster a collective celebration of India's cultural legacy, uniting people from all walks of life in the shared appreciation of our remarkable heritage.
