The elder sister of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajeshwariben Pradip Shah, breathed her last on Monday at a hospital in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The 65-year-old had initially been receiving treatment at Ahmedabad's KD Hospital and was later transferred to Mumbai, where she unfortunately succumbed.

Rajeshwariben's mortal remains have reportedly been brought to her residence here this morning and her last rites will be performed at Thaltej crematorium this afternoon

Due to this tragic loss, all programs that Home Minister Amit Shah was set to attend in Gujarat on Monday have been reportedly canceled. Rajeshwariben had been undergoing treatment for an extended period and had recently undergone a lung transplant.

The cancellation affected two scheduled events at Banas Dairy and Raksha University, where the Home Minister was supposed to launch projects and address the public. According to Ajay Patel, Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Bank Limited, Amit Shah couldn't attend the event due to his sister's demise. Patel, who was among the attendees at the Banaskantha event, shared this information, as reported by the local media.
