New Delhi: Lok Sabha MP from Punjab, Simranjit Singh Mann, popular for his controversial statements, has again given a shocking statement regarding Amritpal Singh. He said, 'Amritpal should have fled to Pakistan; we had done this earlier in 1984 as well.' Mann did not stop here; he said that Amritpal should not surrender but should cross the Ravi River and flee to Pakistan.

This is not the first time that Simranjit Singh has given a statement in support of Amritpal; he has openly advocated for Amritpal on many occasions. A few days ago, he said that he was afraid that Amritpal might be encountered. Maan had said that if he (Amritpal) is not produced in court, then we will understand that he has been encountered. If this happens, then it will become a big issue among the Sikhs all over the world, and I, as a responsible parliamentarian, request the government not to do anything that will destroy Amritpal.

Simranjit Singh Mann is a pro-Khalistani leader. He reached the lower house in 2022 by winning the by-election on the Sangru Lok Sabha seat. He is the president of the political party, Shiromani Akali Dal. Mann is a third-term MP. He was the Member of Parliament for Tarn Taran between 1989 and 1991. Thereafter, he is the MP of Sangrur twice, between 1999 and 2004 and until 2022. Simranjit Singh Mann has been in controversy earlier also. A few days ago, Mann called freedom fighter Bhagat Singh a 'terrorist'. Maan had also told me the reason behind this.
