New Delhi: Amid the ongoing dispute with PETA, Indian dairy Amul has written to PM Narendra Modi demanding action on PETA. Amul's Voice President Valamji Hambal (Valamji Humbal) has requested PETA to ban it accusing it of wasting people's means of livelihood. Hambal also said peta's actions are tarnishing the image of the Indian dairy sector.
In a press release, Hambal stressed that the dairy sector has an important role to play in India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and misinformation of such NGO could adversely affect GDP. He has also alleged conspiracy against India's milk industry. Citing milk producers in Gujarat, Hambal has demanded a ban on those plotting to damage the image of the dairy industry. Hambal said, "The dairy sector has an important role to play in India's GDP, but misinformation spread by opportunistic elements like this NGO could have a negative impact on GDP. Such organisations are part of a conspiracy to render India's milk producers unemployed".
Hambal further said, "Milk producers in Gujarat are urging PM Modi to initiate necessary action to ban organisations which are trying to tarnish the image of dairy sector through false and misleading information campaigns. These organizations are promoting the plants of multinational companies producing synthetic milk".
