TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu has said in a statement that, 'It is unfortunate that the arson in Konaseema is known for peace. The Home Minister made baseless allegations on a serious issue. This is a complete failure of the government and the police.

At the same time, State Home Minister T Vanitha has said that about 20 policemen were injured in stone pelting by the mob. Protesters set a school bus on fire. In view of this, Section 144 has been imposed in Amalapuram. Additional police force has been sent to bring the situation under control. A mob of 1000 to 1500 people came and set our house on fire. They were carrying petrol in bottles. This clearly indicates that all this has been done intentionally. The Jagan government had promised new districts during the 2019 assembly elections.
