Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was produced before the court by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today in connection with a money laundering case. The ED sought 14 days remand of Anil Deshmukh in court. However, the court has sent Anil Deshmukh to ED custody till November 6. Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh appeared before the court on behalf of the agency.

Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been remanded in ED custody by the court till November 6. During the hearing, a Special PMLA Court in Mumbai has allowed Anil Deshmukh's application for domestic food and medicines during his custody. The court has also allowed the presence of his lawyer during interrogation by the agency. Earlier, Anil Deshmukh was arrested by the directorate after about 13 hours of interrogation late on Monday night.

He was produced before the court by ED officials after a medical examination this Tuesday morning. At present, the media has not been allowed inside the courtroom during the hearing. Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was levelled into serious allegations by the then Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
