Mumbai: Socialist Anna Hazare has written a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray of Maharashtra. In this letter, Anna has requested to remove the security of Z-Plus which he received. In his letter, Anna Hazare wrote,'I do not need any protection. If something untoward happens to me, I am responsible for it myself.'

Anna has been observing a silent fast in her village Ralegan Siddhi for the protection of women since December 20. The state government has recently decided to change the security of important persons. In which Anna's Y category security has been increased to Z category. A change has also been made in the security of Sachin Tendulkar. In a letter written to Uddhav, Anna has said that the government is spending a lot of money to protect a fakir like me who lives in the temple.

Anna Hazare wrote, 'I do not see the misuse of money received from people as tax. Protection to others may undoubtedly look like jewelry, but to me it is evil. Some people have threatened me, but I am not afraid of dying. While in the army, I have dodged death once. Even after security, no one will die. Former PM Indira and Rajiv Gandhi were assassinated under strict security.'
