Ujjain: After the statement made by suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma about Prophet Muhammad, the round of rumours are not going to stop. Now, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, a rally was taken out on social media by an unknown person and rumours of a Ujjain Bandh were spread. Subsequently, the police and the administration have taken the matter seriously and have issued an alert by deploying additional police forces in the sensitive areas of the city. However, the city Qazi clarified that the talk of the Ujjain bandh is only a rumour.

After the controversial remarks of former BJP leader Nupur Sharma, there were reports of violence in many areas of the country, while in Ujjain also fake messages of city bandh started going viral. Taking a serious note of the rumour, SSP Satyendra Shukla deployed police forces in sensitive areas of the city, while he himself set out on a tour in areas like Begum Bagh and Topkhana. In fact, this message was made viral by a local leader, for which the leader also apologized. It was written in the message that Ujjain will remain closed after reciting the Jumei prayers in all the mosques of the city and people will reach the district collector's office as a rally and submit a memorandum. In this regard, the police administration officials alerted all the police stations and deployed additional police forces at artillery, KD Gate, Chhatri Chowk and other places.

City Qazi Khaliqur Rahman, on the other hand, said that people of the Muslim faith have not made any kind of rally or memorandum of function. "Someone has spread rumours by posting misleading news on social media. Ujjain Superintendent of Police Satyendra Kumar Shukla said that some misleading messages had gone viral on social media, calling for a bandh. Meanwhile, anti-social elements should not do any kind of activity, so additional police forces have been deployed in the city due to vigilance.
