New Delhi: Registration of PM Free Electricity Scheme has now been started. Under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme (PM Surya Ghar Scheme), the benefit of up to 300 units of free electricity is going to be provided to the beneficiaries. Under this scheme, solar panels are going to be installed on the roof of the house. Under the free electricity scheme, the Central Government is going to invest Rs 75,000 crore. Besides, the government is also going to provide subsidy to the beneficiaries. 

Under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, benefits are also going to be given to 1 crore families. Subsidy under this scheme (PM Surya Ghar Yojana Subsidy) is to be provided only when solar panels are going to be installed on the roof of your house. If you also want to register under this scheme, then let us know in detail about when and where it is going to be started, and from where you can avail its benefits…? 

How to register offline?: Reports say that to promote this scheme, India Post has said that people will also be able to get registration done through the post office. You can also get information about subsidy. Registration under PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme has been started in Karnataka Postal Circle. People will also be able to register under this scheme at their nearest post office and Gram Dak Sevaks. 

Register online:-

If you want to apply online then you have to go to the official website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in . Here is step by step information on how you will be able to register online. 

First of all go to the official website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in and select Apply for Rooftop Solar. 
Now select your state and name of electricity distribution company. Then enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number and email.

Login on the new page by entering consumer number and mobile.

When the form opens, apply for rooftop solar panels as per the guidelines given in it.
After completing this process, you will also be given feasibility approval, after which you will be able to get the plant installed from any vendor registered with your DISCOM.

How much subsidy will be given?: To apply under this scheme, it is mandatory for you to have electricity bills of last 6 months. The Central Government announced in the budget that under the new Solar Rooftop Scheme, consumers can be given a subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kilowatt for connections up to three kilowatts and Rs 18,000 per kilowatt for connections above 3 kilowatts.
