Anushka Sharma's latest films have done well both critically and commercially. The one of her film which lost the game of success was Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet which also started Ranbir Kapoor.

After the failure of film, Ranbir and Anurag Kashyap were criticized by the audience for the film's weak content.

Recently, when Anushka was asked if she was as affected as her co-star Ranbir Kapoor after the failure of Bombay Velvet , the actress said, "What happened to him (Ranbir Kapoor) was unfair. He is one of the best actors we have today. But it's also because Bombay Velvet was Johnny's film more than Rosie's. I would have been held solely responsible if NH10 [Anushka's first film as a producer and female lead] had flopped, not because I produced it, but because the film was riding on my shoulders. But, he (Ranbir Kapoor) continues to be targeted also because of the other films he did [that didn't fare well]. I was relatively less affected because I had successful films before and after Bombay Velvet."
