It has been more than a year since Anushka Shetty's film was released in Tollywood. Although she played a cameo role in Saira Narasimha Reddy, her full-length film was not released. Her long-pending film Nishabdam, directed by Hemant Madhukar, now has a release date. The film, which has been running for over a year, will be released in multiple languages on 2 April. Earlier, it was revealed that the film was scheduled to hit theaters on January 31. However, it seems that the film was postponed due to post-production delays.

According to media reports, the makers of Nishaddham took to Twitter to reveal the film's release date and wrote, "# 2 will be released on April 2, 2020!" Producer Kona Venkat said in an earlier interview, "Anushka was not the first choice for the lead role because I wrote the screenplay for another female superstar. When I was returning from Mumbai, I saw Anushka on the same flight. The aircraft was a punctured tire and the flight was diverted towards Chennai. During this time, I gave her the story of Nishabdham and within a week she gave the final blow. Anushka, who has been selected about her projects since Bhagamathi, worked for us."
