Amaravati: The government is now carrying out the transport system that supplies medicines to government hospitals. This is already working on this. The government hospitals will purchase medicines required by APMS IDC (State Infrastructure Development Corporation) and reach the CDS (Central Drug Store) in the district headquarters. From there, the teaching hospitals, district hospitals, area hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres should be transported. So far, private vehicles have been transported. In a few days, the system will be abolished and the government will deliver medicines to every hospital with its own vehicles.

Some private companies have given vehicles to supply drugs under corporate social responsibility. These vehicles will be supplied with medicines. Two to four vehicles work for the supply of medicines depending on the need for the district. Setting up of vehicles on its own will save Rs 1.20 crore per annum on a monthly calculation of Rs 10 lakh. Also, the medications are likely to be added on time. The presence of private transport system in the past has caused severe delays in transporting medicines from central drug stores to district, talukand mandal-level hospitals. There is no such situation anymore. In any district, vehicles will work as needed in the district. Route map is fixed in advance of some hospitals every day from the Central Drug Store. Accordingly, the medicines go on time to the hospitals in the area.

The private company supplied medicines. Now we are doing it within the scope of the government. This will strengthen the drug transport system and provide medicines to poor patients on time. This transportation is less expensive than ever before.
