Amaravati: The Centre has praised the Andhra Pradesh government for the first place in cheap power purchases. The Union Energy Ministry has also taken the matter to the niti aayog. The main objective of cheap power purchase is to ensure that the consumer does not burden the electricity charges. The Centre also recognized that Andhra Pradesh power companies are ahead of Tamil Nadu and Telangana. In fact, the YSRCP government focused on controlling the burden of power purchases when it came to power after the Centre suggested that crucial power purchases in the power management cost should be brought to the way. As a result, in the last one year, these reforms have saved Rs 1,023 crore savings in public money

As part of the electricity reforms, the Central Government has made real-time market access to electricity in the open market, and any state should first inform the national grid. In the past 24 hours before the power grid corporation (PGCIL) should be told. Even though the demand for electricity is already mentioned, the actual consumption fluctuates. It is being bought or less than expected. At the same time, all the states are scheduled to increase the demand for electricity in the market and the higher the price. Electricity availability in the open market can be determined only 15 minutes before the real time market is available. You can take the electricity right away. If not necessary, you can stop taking electricity in minutes. The state is in the forefront of making good use of it.

Ap is the first in the southern states to reduce electricity prices by using the real time market. The annual power consumption in the state is estimated at about 60,000 million units (Mu). 6,500 (16%) from last June to December The MU unit was purchased at an average of Rs. 3.12. In fact, the Apperc market also allowed the purchase of electricity at Rs 4.67 per unit. However, by buying Rs. 3.12, you can save Rs. 1.55 per unit. Thus, the Central Power Department has identified rs 1,023.80 crore savings in public funds. Telangana companies have a maximum of 10 per cent real time market with rs. With only 300 crores left, Tamil Nadu is third with 12 per cent real time market.

During the Telugu Desam government, private power producers were encouraged to do so. Solar power is rs. 5.25 to Rs. 5.90. Wind power prices are declining, but 41 long term wind power purchase agreements have been made to pay 25 years at Rs. 4.84 per unit. As a result, power companies have gone into debt of Rs 70,250 crore. Discoms have been debted to Rs 19,920 crore. The TDP government has never bought electricity as cheap as the YSRCP government in 2014-19

AP power companies are going to plan ahead to get into the real time market. The real power availability is assessed from power generation plants with advanced technology. Production centers have completely changed the situation that takes a few hours to send estimates. The instant availability of the production centers through the Internet has been brought in. In the same order, the cheapest electricity available in the market is known. If the market is cheaper, the costly power generation in the state is being reduced. A separate mechanism was set up for this purpose. It is using professionals in the industry. A division was set up with those capable of assessing the market. 24 hours are focused on this. They are constantly moving forward with special strategy.
