Argentina: Western Argentina and parts of Chile were hit by the 6.4-magnitude earthquake on sunday, but no casualties have been reported so far, said authorities.

According to Argentina's seismological institute, “the earthquake rocked San Juan province at 1757 local time (2057 GMT), striking at a depth of about 130 kilometers (80 miles)”.

Government’s National Emergency Office (ONEMI) added, “the earthquake was measured at a magnitude of 6.5 in Chile”.

The areas where the quake was felt includes, northern and western Chile in the regions of Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaiso, 0'Higgins and the Santiago metro region.
