New Delhi: India is moving fast towards becoming self-reliant in the defence sector. India is increasing the production of weapons not only for itself but also for exporting defence materials to other countries. Meanwhile, a major defence deal has been signed between India and Armenia. Armenia and its neighbouring Azerbaijan have long been fighting over the border dispute. In such a situation, they are taking the help of India to empower their army. Now India will supply a large number of arms and defence equipment to Armenia.

According to the report, the deal between India and Armenia is quite big and it can be a deal of up to Rs 2,000 crore. India is constantly improving its foreign and defence policies and pushing for increased arms exports. According to media reports, India will also supply Pinaka Multi Barrel rocket launchers to Armenia, which India's army is already using.

In this deal, most of the weapons will be supplied, which have been designed by DRDO and now private sector companies are producing them. The Indian Army has recently ordered 6 additional Pinaka regiments. At the same time, work is also going on to increase its range. According to the deal, India will also supply anti-tank rockets to Armenia. However, this is not the first time that India is sending defence equipment to Armenia. In 2020, India supplied four Swati radars to Armenia, worth Rs 350 crore.
