Srinagar: In a successful operation on Sunday, the Indian Army thwarted an infiltration attempt in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir. During the joint operation conducted with the J&K Police against the infiltrators, the security forces managed to neutralize the terrorist and seized incriminating materials, arms, and ammunition from the infiltrator.

The operation took place in the Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector, and the identity and affiliation of the killed terrorist are yet to be determined. This incident comes shortly after another encounter in Rajouri district, where a terrorist was killed on Saturday. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Army's Rashtriya Rifles and the J&K Police had initiated the joint operation.

The encounter ensued when the militants opened fire on the security forces during the search operation, prompting the forces to retaliate. Further details on the ongoing search operation in Kupwara are awaited.
