Army vehicle in J&K’s Rajouri attacked by terrorists, no causalities reported

An Army vehicle in Jammu & Kashmir’s Sunderbani area of Rajouri district has been attacked by terrorists on Wednesday. The incident is said to have occurred at the aftermath of afternoon around 1 pm near Phall village located close to a water tank in the forested area along the Sunderbani Malla road.

The initial reports say that there were one or two rounds of firing at 9 JAK vehicle when it was patrolling the region. It has been reported that the terrorists were hiding in ambush and attacked the vehicle from there only. The area is said to be an infiltration route of the militants since early on. 

Officials informed that, "At 1300 hours, an army vehicle was fired upon at Village Phall near water tank, a forest area on Sunderbani Malla road close to the LOC."The region has been cordoned off by the Indian Army and a search operation has been carried out, with additional reinforcements. The army is at present, on a high alert. There are no causalities reported till now. 

According to a Defence spokesperson, a fire incident has also coccured in Sunderbani. As of now, there are no details about it. Also, on early Wednesday morning, a Pakistani intruder has also been shot by the Border Security Force (BSF) troops on the Pathankot border, Punjab. There was some suspicious movement observed in the Border Outpost Tashpatan area along the border. Despite being informed, the intruder did not stop entering the Indian side of the border. He was subsequently been shot down, however his identity has not been known yet. 

A BSF spokesperson of the Jammu frontier said that a strong protest will be lodged against the Pakistani rangers over the incident. As of the terrorists attack on the army vehicle, it is yet to see what action is taken by the Indian Army and are the hiding militants caught.
