Antonia Maino (Sonia Gandhi), born on 9 December 1946, is the wife of an Indian politician and former Prime Minister of the country, Rajiv Gandhi. Sonia was born in Louisiana, a small village located 20 km from the Vicenza region of Veneto, Italy. Her name before marriage was Antonia Maino. Her father, Stefano Maino, was a fascist soldier who died in 1983. Her mother is Paolo Maino.
