Hargovind Sahib ji, the 6th Guru of the Sikhs, had declared his grandson Har Rai ji as 'Saptam Nanak' at the young age of 14 before he died. Thus Guru Har Rai became the seventh Guru of the Sikhs, being a spiritual and nationalist great man as well as a warrior. Guru Har Rai Ji always advised people to lead moralistic life. Guru Har Rai Ji always taught the needy to earn good, donate part of it to the needy and renounce evil and accept good deeds. Today, the death anniversary of this great saint, let us know some important things related to his life.
1- Har Rai ji, the seventh guru of Sikhism, was born in Kiratpur on 20 Magh Samvat 1686 (26 February 1630) to Baba Gurditta and Mother Nihal Kaur.
2- Guru Har Rai Ji received the title of Dharma Guru on Chaitra 7 Samvat 1701 (8 March 1644).
3- He also built an Ayurvedic hospital for the welfare of the people. Â
4- Guru Har Rai Ji was married to Kishan Kaur Ji. Guru Har Rai ji had two sons. Ram Rai and Harkishan Singh Ji (Guru).
5- Guru Har Rai Ji sacrificed his body on Kartik Vadi Navami at Kiratpur Sahib in 1661 AD.
