India has successfully launched a 3,500-km range K-4 nuclear-capable missile from the INS Arighaat, cementing its place as one of the few nations able to fire nuclear missiles from land, air, and underwater platforms. The confirmation came on Monday from Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, although details about the missile’s trajectory are still being reviewed.

"India carried out the test, and it was successful. The relevant agencies are analyzing the missile's trajectory, and we will soon know the results," Admiral Tripathi said.

The Navy chief also highlighted the growing presence of the Chinese Navy in the Pacific Ocean, noting that Indian authorities are closely monitoring the situation. He mentioned that they are particularly vigilant about "extra-regional forces operating in the Indian Ocean, including the PLA Navy, their warships, and research vessels."

On the military front, India remains alert to the increasing naval capabilities of neighboring Pakistan. Admiral Tripathi pointed out, "We are aware of the Pakistan Navy’s aim to become a 50-ship force. They have prioritized weapons over the well-being of their people."

He further discussed the role of India's nuclear submarines, emphasizing that INS Arihant has been actively carrying out deterrence patrols. "The second nuclear submarine just completed a missile test and will continue its mission as planned," he added. He also mentioned that the fleet of SSNs (nuclear-powered attack submarines) will be ready as per the timeline set by the government.

India continues to expand its naval capabilities with the construction of 62 warships and one submarine. Additionally, Admiral Tripathi confirmed that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has officially commissioned the second SSBN (Nuclear-Powered Ballistic Missile Submarine), INS Arighaat.

"We are committed to adding 31 more powerful warships and submarines, including six submarines under Project 75 India. This also includes 60 utility helicopters for the navy," he concluded.
