New Delhi: Today is the death anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. He was born on December 25, 1861, in Allahabad. Mahamana graduated in 1984. After obtaining a BA degree, he tied the knot with Kumari Devi in Mirzapur. He wanted to be a narrator since childhood. In fact, his father was also a narrator. Due to poverty, he got a job as a teacher in a government school in the year 1884.

He was caught by the British government for violating Section 144 in the Civil Disobedience Movement of the year 1930. Dr Radhakrishnan even called Malaviya a Karmayogi due to his struggle and hard work. In the year 1898, explaining the importance of the Hindi language in front of Sir Antony McDonnell, this language was introduced in the courts. Banaras Hindu University is mentioned whenever such things are said about Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya.

Actually, this university was established in 1916 due to the efforts of Mahamana. Malaviya started Abhyudaya Hindi Weekly in 1907. He was also the President of the Congress in 1909, 1918, 1930, and 1932. From 1924 to 1946, he was the chairman of Hindustan times. He inspired Malaviya to make a significant contribution in the establishment of Banaras Hindu University and to chant Hindu Mantra in the Godavari river. He also allowed Dalits to enter the Kalaram temple.
