Guru Ramdas remembered as the father of Amritsar City was born on September 24, 1534. Guru Ramdas's childhood name was Jetha. It was only when he was young that his parents raised his hand and then, at the age of 12, he took his grandmother to Goindwal, where he met Guru Amar Das. Amar Das kept them in his house and thus Guru Ramdas started helping him. After being together for a long time, Guru Amar Das's daughter married Guru Ramdas.

After marriage, Guru Ramdas moved in with Guru Amar Das's family or it can be said that he became a part of his family. After which Guru Ramdas became the first guru of Sikhs. Guru Amar Das handed over Guru Ramdas and his son to Sikhim and both were made Sikhgurus. In 1574, Guru Ramdas devoted his entire life to the service of God. Guru Ramdas did a lot of work for the progress of Sikhism and his work proved to be a milestone in Sikhism. Guru Ramdas was said to be a great knower for Sikhism and expanded Sikhism.

Guru Ramdas was determined to distance society from orthodox traditions and succeeded in carrying out this task. He instilled a sense of love in the hearts of many. Guru Ramdas also built a place of Bhajan-Bandagi for Sikhs, which was well received by the Sikhs. After doing many great things, Guru Ramdas bid farewell to this world on September 1, 1581.
