Veerappan, who was called a notorious sandalwood smuggler, was finally killed 15 years ago by a special police team. He has become a legend not only in his area but across the country. It was said that the police could not catch him. If people considered him Robinhood for his area, then some ruthless killer. When his story ended on October 18, 2004, people did not believe it.

A lot of things are also said about him. It was said that he killed a total of two thousand elephants so that their teeth could be smuggled. Thousands of sandalwood trees were also cut. Don't know how many people were killed. Veerappan used to bury the money in rubber shoes on the ground. In the last 15 years, many books have been written on Veerappan. Many films have been made. But even after 15 years, many secrets buried with Veerappan's death are still secrets.

In 1987, Veerappan shook the country when he kidnapped a forest officer named Chidambaram. After some time he showed the extent of brutality. Blew up a police team. 22 people died. Then in 2000, Veerappan also kidnapped the Kannada movie hero Rajkumar. A ransom of Rs 50 crore was asked for the release.

The good thing was that Veerappan also appealed for a welfare scheme for border areas. This was his style of becoming Robinhood. The people living in the forests considered him no less than Robinhood. Whom he once met get impressed, which was why more than 20,000 people lined up outside the post-mortem house the day Veerappan was killed to see his body. Veerappan is said to be the murderer of a total of 184 people, out of which 97 were policemen.

STF Chief Vijay Kumar wrote a book titled 'Veerappan: Chasing the Brigade' after the success of Operation Cocoon. Vijay Kumar says there he asked Veerappan to surrender but he started firing. After which Veerappan's chapter was finished by 11.10 pm in the next 20 minutes in retaliation of the police.

Not only this, when Veerappan was killed, his moustache was not 'Kattabomon' (Kattabomon was a revolutionary of 1857, like whom Veerappan had a moustache). This makes people believe that Veerappan had become very weak by then.
