New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, who has been recently apprehended in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, has reportedly issued his inaugural directive to the government while being detained in Enforcement Directorate custody, as per AAP sources.

The directive pertains to the Water Ministry and was conveyed via a note, party insiders disclosed. At a press conference held at 10 am today, Delhi Minister Atishi elaborated on the directive issued by Arvind Kejriwal. "Despite being in ED custody, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has voiced concerns regarding water and sewerage issues in certain areas of the city. He has instructed the deployment of adequate water tankers in areas experiencing shortages," Atishi stated, while reading out the directive.

"Even in such circumstances, his focus remains on the welfare of the people of Delhi and their challenges. The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal will not impede the ongoing work for the people of Delhi," she further emphasized. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was taken into custody by the ED on March 21 under the anti-money laundering law following searches at his official residence in the Civil Lines area of the national capital.

He was subsequently remanded to Enforcement Directorate custody until March 28 for "detailed and sustained interrogation" concerning his alleged involvement in the irregularities related to the purported liquor scam. Despite his arrest, Arvind Kejriwal has not resigned from his position as Chief Minister, with his party leaders affirming that he will continue to serve as the Delhi Chief Minister and would "administer the government from jail if necessary."

"We've previously stated that if required, Kejriwal will manage the government from jail. He is capable of doing so as no regulation prohibits him. Since he hasn't been convicted, he'll retain his position as the Delhi Chief Minister," Atishi reiterated.
