In a letter, CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that the power supply is being affected due to the coal crisis in Delhi as the power plant is not getting enough coal and urged you to provide an adequate quantity of coal and gas to Delhi.

CM Kejriwal tweeted from his official Twitter handle that "Delhi may face power crisis, I am personally monitoring the entire situation, I have written a letter to the Hon'ble Prime Minister seeking personal intervention in the matter.'' The coal crisis in the country is continuously deepening. This was stated by the Ministry of Power, Government of India in a report. The deepening of the coal crisis will have a direct impact on power generation as most of the power in the country is generated by coal.  At present, there are 135 power plants in the country where coal is generated.

According to a note in coal production, out of these 135 power plants, 72 had less than three days of coal stock left. On the other hand, the number of power stations maintaining 4 to 10 days of stock is 50.
