New Delhi: The Chief Minister of the country's capital Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday (October 21) that the officials have been directed to ensure that the Yamuna river is not polluted during the Chhath festival. He wrote in a tweet, "Chhath festival will be celebrated as before on the ghats of Yamuna. All the officers have been ordered that all arrangements should be made to ensure that Yamuna is not polluted.''

Along with this, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that the AAP government in Delhi will fund 1,100 ghats for the community celebration of Chhath Puja. Let us tell you that Chhath is a popular festival among the people of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The four-day-long festival will be celebrated between October 28-31 this year. The community celebrations of Chhath Puja to be held in different parts of Delhi were affected for two years due to the Corona pandemic. This year the Delhi government has announced an expenditure of Rs 25 crore for community functions at 1,100 ghats. In a press conference, Kejriwal said, 'In 2014, the Delhi government funded the celebration of Chhath Puja at 69 ghats and spent Rs 2.5 crore on it. Now in 2022, the government will give money for organizing Chhath Puja at 1,100 places and spend Rs 25 crore.'
