New Delhi: After Rishi Sunak became the new PM of Britain, another Indian-origin MP entered his government. Conservative Party MP Suella Braverman has been appointed to the Sunak cabinet as the Home Secretary of the United Kingdom. Suella resigned from her post six days ago, taking responsibility for a technical breach of government regulations when she sent the email.

On 19 October Suella Braverman resigned as Britain's Home Secretary, saying she had violated government rules. In her resignation, she expressed concern by questioning the working of the then PM Liz Truss's government. In her resignation, Braverman said she had sent a draft of a written ministerial statement on migration that went to print. Braverman wrote to the prime minister, "much of this was conveyed to lawmakers. Yet it is right for me to resign." She said that as soon as she realized her mistake, she reported it on official channels. She wrote, "I made a mistake. I accept the responsibility and resign."

She cast doubt on Liz Truss's ability to govern, saying, "We haven't broken the important promises we made to voters. I have serious concerns about this government's commitment to honouring the commitments of the manifesto." Earlier this month, Suella Braverman said a trade deal with India would increase migration to the UK. Her remarks came at a time when India and Britain were discussing a free trade agreement. Indian-origin British minister Suella Braverman made this remark in one of her interviews. Responding to her statement, the Indian High Commission in the UK said that India has initiated action on all matters raised under the Migration and Mobility Partnership (MMP). Let us tell you that Goa-born Braverman was also one of the contenders for the post of Prime Minister.
