Ash Barty's sudden retirement has become very rich for tennis Australia. Tennis Australia had signed a 60 million contract with Channel 9 in five years, which is still a long time away. The ratings of the 2022 Australian Open went well during Barty. But now, after Barty's retirement, the tennis management is negotiating a new broadcast deal. It is estimated that the management has lost 100 million Australian dollars because of this.

The Grand Slam Australia Open has brought together bumper success for Tennis Australia this year. It was won by the then World No. 1 Barty, who was the first Australian woman since 1978. Barty's final win against Daniel Collins had earned a great rating for Channel 9. This match has been the most-watched women's final since 1999.

Soon after the conclusion of the tournament, the newspaper 'The Australian' said that TA was hoping that their next deal could earn up to $100 million each year in five years. Now Barty's retirement has greatly weakened TA's bargaining position.
