A day after announcing her retirement from professional tennis, Ashley Barty said at a press conference here on Thursday that she "certainly has no regrets" over her decision.

World number one Barty has also surprised the tennis world by announcing her retirement from tennis at the age of 25 on Wednesday. Ashley Barty had also recently won the Australian Open title. She also won Wimbledon last year. Ashley Barty has not played a tournament since the Australian Open this year.  

Ashley Barty said, "All I know is that this is the right time to retire. I got everything I could in this game.'' Without revealing his future plans, the Australian said, "I am thrilled to start the next chapter of my life as a person, not as a player.''
