New Delhi: The Indian fans' hopes are revived as another World Cup approaches. It is important to note that India hasn't triumphed in a significant ICC competition since the Champions Trophy in 2013. On the other hand, they have failed to win a World Cup since 2011.

India will host the ODI World Cup in October–November 2023, making the host nation heavy favorites to win the championship match. Ravichandran Ashwin has a special piece of advice for Indian cricket team supporters before the competition.

"If we don't win World Cup then move on. If we win, we appretiate them," said Ashwin on his Youtube channel.

In the meantime, Ashwin urged the Indian team's supporters to provide "as much positivity as possible" both before and during the World Cup.

"The least I am asking is when we get into the 2023 World Cup, let's send the team with full positivity. That will be my only request. As much positivity as possible. Winning a World Cup is not easy, guys," he added.

India competed in the 2014 T20 World Cup final and advanced to the 2015 ODI World Cup semifinals. They were able to advance to the T20 World Cup semifinals the following year.

They advanced to the Champions Trophy final in 2017.

India reached the ODI World Cup semifinals in 2019 and the T20 World Cup semifinals in 2022, respectively.

"Just because we play a certain player or drop a certain player, we can't win. All of us are hindsight kings. If we lost a match, we will immediately go, 'If we had played this player, we would have won the game.' It's not that easy guys. The hindsight operations won't work here. We have qualified for the semi-final of almost all the major events," said Ashwin.
