Due to the rising cases of Corona in China, the Asian Games scheduled to be held in Hangzhou in September this year have been postponed on Friday. According to state media, the Asian Olympic Council (OCA) has postponed the 19th Asian Games, which is considered to be the second-largest sporting event after the Olympics.

According to the former event,  the games were to be held between September 10 and 25 in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, about 175 km southwest of Shanghai. A statement on the Games' official website said, "The Asian Olympic Council has announced that the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, from September 10 to 25, 2022, have been postponed. ’

This decision was made because China is currently struggling with the coronavirus epidemic. Shanghai is witnessing a record number of cases each day, which is not far from the host city of Hangzhou.
