Assam: CM orders officials to form committee on mobile theatre industry issues

Guwahati: On Friday, CM Sarbananda Sonowal held a meeting with representatives of the Mobile Theatre Producers Association at Brahmaputra state guest house in Guwahati. He received a memorandum from the Union wherein their problems and demands were kept. The producers and owners of the Mobile Theatre Group apprised the CM about the complex round of groups due to COVID-19.

Sonowal assured the mobile theatre owner that the state Government would help the groups to reduce the threat they face. He directed the formation of a government committee to suggest a roadmap for taking the mobile theatre industry forward to find a solution to the difficulties. On Saturday, CM, along with representatives of the Mobile Theatre Producers Association, ordered the Commissioner and Secretary, Industry department KK Dwivedi to find ways to register the mobile theatre group in micro, small and medium enterprises category. At the same time, all possible help will be provided by the Government.

On the other hand, the number of COVID-19 infections in the country is increasing rapidly. On a daily basis, more than 90 thousand cases have been registered for the last several days. In the last 24 hours, the figure of COVID-19 infections in the country has crossed 53 lakh with 93,337 new cases on Saturday. There have also been 1,247. Corona cases are continuously increasing in the country.
