Assam: Over 30000 people had faced problems and inconvenience due to heavy rainfall in Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur and Udalguri districts of Assam. The major rivers in Assam: Brahmaputra and Barak are flowing just below the danger level. Brahmaputra River crossed the danger level but came down on Sunday.

People had been alerted via SMS and TVs to see weather conditions before going out. According to reports 25 relief camps in different districts had been set up till now and government has asked others to keep them ready.
According to reports there have been no causalities while several bridges had been damaged and got submerged in Sonitpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, Baksa, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Goalpara, Golaghat, Kamrup, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Karimganj and Udalguri.

Dima Hasao, Kamrup Metropolitan and Karimganj had reported incidents of landslides.
Dr Atul Goel, DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that their regional offices are in preparation for supporting the state government. A team of specialists from AIIMS Guwahati and the National Centre for Disease Control will be deployed to assist the state whenever required, a statement said.
