Guwahati: The condition of former CM Tarun Gogoi is critical as many organs have stopped functioning. Gogoi is placed on ventilator at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. Superintendent of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital Abhijeet Sharma has given information about this.

He was discharged on October 25, 60 days after being admitted to the hospital. After testing positive for coronavirus, the former Chief Minister was admitted to GMCH on August 26. Giving information, sources said that the team of nine doctors at Guwahati Medical College Hospital is constantly monitoring Gogoi. The former CMs are weak, and are not talking much, with doctors saying they are hoping that their health will improve soon.

GMCH doctors have consulted AIIMS doctors through video calls about the line of treatment required for the 86-year-old elderly Congress leader. Senior Congress leaders in Assam are in constant contact with Gogoi's family members, and are extending all possible assistance. Even before this, Gogoi was hospitalized. But his health has deteriorated again, doctors say Gogoi's condition is stable.
