New Delhi: India's rising tennis player Sumit Nagal has confirmed his place in the semi-finals of ATP Challenger Campinas. He went on to win against Argentine Carrondolo of Argentina. The Indian, who reached a career-best 135th position in the world rankings, defeated 13th seed Carondolo 7-6 7-5. Nagal confirmed his place in the last four for the second time in the last two weeks. Nagal is at the sixth place, he will have to overcome the challenge of Juan Pablo Ficovic of Argentina to reach the final.

He got out of the first round. In the second round, his Portugal rival Gastão Elias left the match in the middle of the first set. In the final-16, he defeated Orlando Luz of Brazil 7-5 6-3. Nagal won the second career ATP Challenger Clay Court title by defeating Argentina's Facundo Bognis last week. He previously won the Bengaluru Challenger tournament in 2017. Sumit Nagal recently created history by owning the title of Buenos Aires ATP Challenger. Nagal became the first Indian to win the ATP Challenger title this season. Nagal also became the first player from Asia to win this title.
