Lucknow: Amidst the sixth phase of polling in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, there are reports of an attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Dayashankar Singh in Ballia. It is being told that the convoy of BJP candidate and state vice-president Dayashankar Singh from the Nagar assembly constituency of Ballia district was attacked at around 12.30 pm in Akhar under Dubahar police station area.

In this attack, the car of BJP leader Tunji Pathak, who was walking with Dayashankar Singh Nake, was damaged. Police are investigating the case. According to the information, the BJP candidate was attacked and when the BJP supporters were alerted, the attackers fled. The security personnel accompanying them have taken possession of the vehicle. 

Meanwhile, a vehicle and its driver have been detained in Lucknow and it is being told that the seized vehicle belongs to the convoy of Narad Rai, who contested on a Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket from the city assembly and is registered in Lucknow. In this case, Dayashankar Singh alleged that the way Krishnanand Rai was murdered. That's how a conspiracy has been hatched to kill me. Dayashankar Singh said the SP candidate had links with mafia don Mukhtar Ansari and the attackers fled after the attack. "I have Y category security and there are personal security guards as well. Because of this, the attack has failed.'' He said that Mukhtar Ansari may also be behind the attack.
