The case of Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh sexual harassment grabbed all the limelight as a woman alleged the sports minister of sexual harassment. The Chandigarh police also registered a sexual harassment and criminal intimidation case against Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh. The case was registered by a complaint by a junior athletics coach on Friday.

Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh on Sunday dismissed all the allegations made against him and called it an attempt to spoil his image. He said, “There is an attempt to spoil my image. I hope there will be a thorough investigation over the false allegations leveled against me. I hand over the responsibility of the Sports department to the Chief Minister until the report of the investigation comes out,” 

The woman held a press conference at the office of the opposition party Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), and demanded that the Manohar Lal Khattar government immediately sack Sandeep Singh and set up a Special Investigation Team to probe the matter.  The woman made serious allegations on minister. She said, "He messaged me on Instagram and said my national games certificate is pending and wanted to meet in this regard. Unfortunately, my certificate has been misplaced by my federation and I have been taking it up with the authorities concerned."

The woman finally agreed to meet him at his residence with some other documents she had, and alleged that when she went there, the minister indulged in sexual misconduct.  The woman further said, “I am a daughter of Haryana and this country, and I hope the government will give me time and listen to what I have gone through.”

On Sunday a case has been registered against Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh under sections 354, 354A, 354B, 342, 506 IPC after a junior athletics coach filed a complaint alleging that he had sexually harassed her.
