On Wednesday, the Audi e-tron GT and RS GT were officially launched in India, with a starting price of Rs1.79 million (ex showroom). Audi India may have been late to the electric party (the e-tron and e-tron Sportback were released in July), but it now has the largest variety of premium and non-luxury vehicles in the country. The Audi e-tron GT is priced from Rs 1,79,90,000 to Rs 2,04,99,000, while the RS e-tron GT is priced from Rs 2,04,99,000 to Rs 2,04,99,000.

The Audi e-tron GT and RS GT are imported, similar to the e-tron and e-tron Sportback. While attempting to become an exclusive offering in an already specialized sector, both electric cars hold a lot of potential for those who are interested. The Audi e-tron GT was first unveiled to the public in February of this year, and has been positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla's Model S and Porsche's Taycan. The fact that the e-tron GT is Audi's most powerful electric vehicle is underscored by an even more powerful Audi e-tron RS GT variant.

The Audi e-tron GT features a very streamlined aerodynamic profile and a drag coefficient of only 0.24 to emphasize its performance capabilities. A prominent grille, sharp LED headlight modules, and a turbine-like metal design all contribute to the vehicle's dynamic appearance. The e-tron GT has 20-inch alloy wheels, while the RS has 21-inch alloy wheels.

The driving capabilities on offer is perhaps the most remarkable, even outrageous, feature of the newest from Audi India. The torque on the e-tron GT is 630 Nm, with an extra 10 Nm in overboost mode. The e-tron RS GT is considerably more capable, with torque of 830 Nm. Although there is no direct competition in terms of performance, the Audi e-tron GT and RS GT will join cousins e-tron and e-tron Sportback in taking on the Mercedes EQC and Jaguar i-Pace.

The e-tron GT has a power output of 470 horsepower, while the RS variant has a power output of 590 horsepower. These values increase to 522 horsepower and 637 hp, respectively, in the extra overboost mode. Despite its weight of about 2,300 kilograms, this electric vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in under 4.1 seconds, or 3.3 seconds in the RS variant.
