MOHALI: KL Rahul, the opener for India, is being questioned about his strike rate during the Powerplay as he prepares for the T20I series against Australia.

Rahul, who recently made a full recovery from an injury and recently played his debut series against Zimbabwe, said he is working on it.

Certainly, every player strives to achieve it. Nobody is perfect, and that goes for everyone in the locker room, Rahul said on Monday during the press conference prior to the game.

He said, consideration of the strike rate issue must be made in light of the player's role within the squad as well as its overall impact on the outcome.

Everyone is responsible for a specific task, and strike rates are obviously taken into account on an overall basis. When a batsman plays at a given strike rate, you never know if it was crucial for him to play at 200 or if the team might have prevailed with a 100-120 strike rate. When you look at it, it appears slow since not everyone analyses these things. "Yes, it is something I am working at. Each player's tasks have been clarified over the past 10 to 12 months, and everyone is working to fulfil them, said Rahul, who has a lifetime T20I strike rate of 140 or higher across 61 games. Rahul picks up speed later in his batting despite starting out more slowly.

The India vice-captain stated, "I am simply working toward how I can improve myself as an opening batsman," prior to the first T20I match against Australia on Tuesday.

The talented batsman from Karnataka, who returned with the ODIs in Zimbabwe, said he is pleased with his playing and is eagerly anticipating the Australia T20Is.

"I feel confident about my performance. Getting back into the game after the injury was crucial. Going to Zimbabwe was extremely important. Playing at home will be enjoyable because it has been a while, he remarked.
