In a significant move towards sustainable energy, Ayodhya is gearing up to brighten 42 of its parks using solar power soon. The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has taken the initiative to install solar trees across these parks, aligning to maximize the use of renewable energy sources in the sacred town.

A bold initiative to transform Ayodhya into a solar-powered city is gaining momentum. Aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision, the city, renowned as Lord Ram's sacred abode, is undergoing enhancements in lighting and infrastructure.

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) is leading the charge to reduce reliance on conventional electricity. Various innovative experiments are underway, including the installation of solar tree plants in the city's parks.

Out of these parks, eight will be powered by 2.5-kilowatt solar trees, while the remaining 34 will benefit from 1-kilowatt trees. These specially designed trees have been crafted to strategically illuminate the central areas of the parks, where benches are set to be placed, creating a welcoming ambiance.

A solar-powered city is  also in progress, aiming to supply energy to key tourist spots within the city, enhancing accessibility and sustainability.

Project Manager of UPNEDA, Praveen Nath Pandey, shared that a total of 52 locations are slated for solar tree installation, with ongoing efforts to cover all identified areas.

Some prominent locations marked for tree installation include Suryakund, Circuit House, State Bank of India Colony, Kaushalpuri Phase 1, Rohini Colony, Shiv Mandir Park, and Bahadurganj, among others.

These innovative trees have been carefully crafted to seamlessly blend in with the city's overall aesthetic and theme, promoting both sustainability and aesthetic appeal.
