Ayodhya: The Uttar Pradesh administration, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, is gearing up to organize the International Kite Festival in Ayodhya, as announced by the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) on Thursday.

Preparatory measures for the event, anticipated to span from January 19 to 21, are underway. This festival aims to attract skilled kite flyers from across India and the globe, granting them a platform to exhibit their craftsmanship. To ensure the event's success, ADA plans to collaborate with a specialized private agency.

Through the Request for Proposal (RFP) method, the Ayodhya Development Authority has invited applications for the selection of an agency responsible for planning, designing, executing, and overseeing the festival's management. This encompasses the creation of temporary structures and necessary infrastructure.

An official announcement stated, "The agency entrusted with this responsibility will be finalized based on the applications received through the stipulated process."

The selection procedure is slated for completion by January 8, paving the way for a detailed strategy for the grand event.

Drawing inspiration from celebrated kite festivals both domestically and internationally, the festival aims to be a monumental success.

ADA's press release highlighted that the designated visitor area will accommodate 750 individuals. Additionally, a specialized lounge, boasting 50 VVIP sofas, will be set up for esteemed guests. The event will also provide seating for 350 attendees on cushioned chairs and an additional 350 on standard chairs. The presence of dedicated volunteers will ensure a seamless experience for both participants and spectators.

For gastronomic delights, the food counters will serve dishes crafted from millets infused with local tastes, complemented by the opportunity to relish authentic Awadhi cuisine. The statement also reassured that measures would be in place to protect tents and equipment from potential monkey disturbances.

To capture the essence of the festival, top-tier cameras will be deployed alongside advanced sound systems. Given the cultural significance of kite flying during Makar Sankranti, especially in regions like Ayodhya, the International Kite Festival is anticipated to garner attention and accolades, resonating both nationally and globally.
