NEW DELHI: The National Health Authority (NHA) announced the integration with the Aarogya Setu app on Friday as part of its flagship scheme, the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Users of the Aarogya Setu app will be able to use ABDM as a result of the integration.

A user can generate their 14-digit unique ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) number under the ABDM, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The ABHA number can also be used to link current and new medical documents, such as doctor prescriptions, lab reports, and hospital records, and share them with registered health professionals and health care providers, according to the ministry.

"Aarogya Setu has played a key role amidst the Covid-19 pandemic," remarked R.S. Sharma, CEO of NHA, of the integration. As a result, the mobile application has a large user base. Because vaccination aids in the fight against the epidemic, repurposing this extensively utilised digital public good was imperative. We will now be able to make the benefits of ABDM available to Aarogya Setu users and enable them to join the digital health ecosystem with their agreement, thanks to the integration of Aarogya Setu with ABDM." He also stated that "we would soon roll out the functionality to examine the consumers' digital health records."
