Lucknow: The process of release of Abdullah Azam, son of Samajwadi Party (SP) stalwart and MP from Rampur Lok Sabha seat Azam Khan, has been completed. His release order has been sent to Sitapur jail after filing bail from the court. He will now be released from jail soon. In Uttar Pradesh, when it is election season, Abdullah Azam will take over the Political Front of the SP along with his election in the absence of his father.
In the 2017 assembly elections, Abdullah Azam contested from Tanda on a Samajwadi Party ticket and won the election by defeating Congress candidate Nawab Khandan's Naved Mian. But there was a change of power in the province and Abdullah Azam was accused of rigging the elections, there were complaints. The matter relating to two birth certificates and two PAN cards was investigated and his military was lost.
He was lodged in Sitapur jail with his father Azam Khan in February 2020. He has more than 40 cases registered against him, now the bail process for his release in court has been completed and orders in this regard have reached the jail. Abdullah Azam is soon to be released from jail and reach his home district. It will be his responsibility to strengthen the party in the assembly seat in the absence of father Azam Khan.
