Speaking to the media after joining the party, the celebrity hair stylist said, "Aaj tak main baalon ka chowkidar tha, aaj mein desh ka chowkidar ban gaya hoon (Till date, I was a watchman for hair, today I have become the watchman for the nation.)”. It becomes a great achivement for BJP as well to get in renowned hair stylist in its courts.

Here it is to be noted that He heaped praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the PM brought changes brought in the country in the last five years of his tenure. "I am happy to join the BJP as I have seen the changes brought in the country by Prime Minister Modi in the last five years. I think nobody should be ashamed of their background, when the prime minister is proud to state that he was a 'chaiwala' then why should I be ashamed of calling myself a 'nai' (barber)," he said, news agency ANI reported.

However, it is worth mention here that the move comes one day before the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections which will be held on April 23 in 117 constituencies spread over 13 states and two Union territories. Elections in Delhi will be held on May 12 in the sixth phase of the elections. Jawed Habib has a total of 846 hair salon outlets spread across 24 states and 110 cities, and his brand enjoys 15 lakh customers.
