Ayodhya: Iqbal Ansari, who was an advocate of Babri Masjid in the Ayodhya temple-mosque case, has welcomed CM Yogi Adityanath's contest from Ayodhya.  Ansari said it is a privilege that CM Yogi Adityanath is contesting from Ayodhya. The Muslim community is also going to vote in favour of Yogi as this is the first government in UP in which there was no riot. The Muslims did not have any problem. Iqbal Ansari claimed that CM Yogi will take development further in Ayodhya.

In fact, during the BJP meeting held on Thursday, the party has also brainstormed about Yogi Adityanath contesting from the Ayodhya seat, but the final decision in this regard has been left to the party's Central Election Committee (CEC). Yogi Adityanath is now a member of the Legislative Council. He is a five-time MP from the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat. State that CEC finalises the names of the candidates.

According to party sources, Yogi may be fielded in Ayodhya and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya from Sirathu assembly seat in an election riot. Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma is likely to be fielded from a seat in the capital Lucknow. According to sources, Apna Dal leader Anupriya Patel on Wednesday held talks with Keshav Prasad Maurya and Swatanter Dev Singh on seat sharing till late in the night while Nishad Party President Sanjay Nishad along with his MP son Praveen Nishad met Home Minister Amit Shah.
