Bajrang Dal activist's death case: Peace restored, says Karnataka Home Minister

Bangalore : Following the suspected murder of Bajrang Dal activist Harsha in Shivamogga on Sunday night, state Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said on Wednesday that the situation is under control and that calm has been restored in the city.

"Everything is in control," Jnanendra said in a press briefing. Shivamogga's peace has been restored. That is something for which I am grateful to the people. At this time, the police are taking the necessary steps. There is no way to guarantee anyone's safety. A thorough investigation will be conducted, and the perpetrators will be prosecuted."

The Home Minister went on to say that the issue is being investigated from all perspectives, and that eight people have been arrested thus far. Officially, eight  persons have been arrested. Other people are being questioned. All sides of the investigation are being looked into. "An inquiry is being conducted by senior personnel, including two Additional Directors General of Police, and the police force," he stated.

Earlier today, the state Home Minister issued a letter to Praveen Sood, the Director General and Inspector General of Police, requesting a full report on the case.
