New Delhi: A 7-day state mourning has been announced in the country after the death of Former President Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee. His last rites were performed in Delhi on Tuesday with full state honours. During this time, the salute of cannons was given to honour the Former President. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has also announced national mourning over his death and half of the flag of Bangladesh will be bowed in honour of Pranab Mukherjee.

Significantly, former President Pranab Mukherjee died on Monday after a long illness. He was undergoing treatment at the Army Research and Referral Hospital. He was 84 years old. Pranab Mukherjee was the 13th President of the country and he was ill for a long time. His corona investigation report also came positive. Neighbouring Bangladesh also expressed deep mourning over the death of Pranab Mukherjee. Bangladesh has declared national mourning in honour of the former President and on Wednesday, the flags on all the government offices of Bangladesh will be half bowed.

Many leaders across the country, including President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi, have expressed grief over the death of former President Pranab Mukherjee. PM Modi has paid tribute to him by tweeting his pictures with Pranab Mukherjee. PM Modi described his advice as memorable.
