The outpouring of grief following Sridevi’s sudden demise last Saturday. While sports personalities in India and Pakistan have shared their thoughts about one of the finest Indian actress, it is now learnt that Sridevi was also a known figure in Bangladesh. Bollywood veteran actress Sridevi, who died in Dubai due to accidental drowning, was also popular in Bangladesh. According to Bangladesh cricket team chief selector, Minazul Abedian. "Sridevi was one of the first female superstars in Bollywood. We are and always will be avid fans of her," he said from Dhaka.

Incidentally, the chief selector's wife (Afroza Abedin Rina) also liked the actress. "We saw many of her films and liked all of them. Sadly, her death is talked with the controversy and that's what saddens us most," he added. Dubai police ruled out any foul play and the body was sent for the last rites in Mumbai on Wednesday. "We deeply regret her loss," the chief selector signed off. Bangladesh will take on hosts Sri Lanka and India in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, which kicks off on March 6.

After the funeral, the bereaved family released a statement, thanking well-wishers for their support. "The one thing that helped us all get through these last few days, was the amazing amount of love and support from everyone in India - be it her many colleagues, to her innumerable fans, her caring friends and loving family, from across the country and the world” On a related note, Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is occupied with the work of her upcoming film Race 3 alongside Salman Khan.
